Florida's Economy

Getting Florida's economy back on track should be the priority of the Florida Legislature. With millions of Floridians looking for work, it's more important than ever that we create an environment that will help create new jobs and attract new businesses to our state.

Our focus should be to strengthen our tourism industry, while at the same time diversifying our economy by attracting new high tech, high wage businesses to Florida. Jump starting our economy is the most important issue facing us today.

Taxes

In times like these, the last thing families and businesses need is a bigger tax bill from government.

We should keep taxes low, so families can spend more money on their household bills and family needs and so businesses can have more money to pay their employees more, offer better health care, and create new jobs for Floridians.

Education

Making Florida first in education should be the goal of every legislator.We must work tirelessly to provide a quality education for every child. It's vitally important that we prepare our children for the 21st century workforce.

Providing a great education begins with accountability. Students must learn the materials required to become a productive member of our workforce, that means we need to stop passing children through the system that can't read and write.

Teachers and administrators must be held accountable as well. We must demand that they work diligently to teach all children, and we must reward them for their outstanding job by providing better pay and benefits.

Family Values

Debbie Mayfield is a pro-life conservative, unwavering in her commitment to protect family values and the sanctity of all human life. As a mother of three, she will be a leader in Tallahassee who will defend life in all its stages and stand up against liberal attempts for more lenient abortion standards.

Debbie believes the rights of parents should be protected and that in many ways government has overstepped its bounds and has intruded upon the rights of parents to raise their children. She will fight to promote morality and conservative family values and believes children should be allowed to pray in school.

Protecting Our 2nd Amendment Rights

Debbie believes that the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental, individual Constitutional right that we have a sacred duty to protect.

In the State House, she will work to ensure that all of our Constitutional rights are protected and maintain the responsibility of lawmakers to ensure that criminals who violate the law are prosecuted to the fullest, rather than restricting the rights of law abiding citizens.
