Family Values

A pro-life conservative, Debbie Mayfield is unwavering in her commitment to protect family values and the sanctity of all human life. As a mother of three, she will be a leader in Tallahassee who will defend life in all its stages and stand up against liberal attempts for more lenient abortion standards.

Debbie believes the rights of parents should be protected and that in many ways government has overstepped its bounds and has intruded upon the rights of parents to raise their children. She will fight to promote morality and conservative family values and believes children should be allowed to pray in school.

Protecting Our Environment

Debbie Mayfield believes that controlling growth and building a sustainable community is among the greatest long term challenges that our community will face. We must protect our unique quality of life from over development and preserve our precious natural resources.

Debbie supports:

• Empowering residents to provide input and have the final say in land use decisions that affect their neighborhood.
• Preserving green space, protecting our natural resources and especially our water supply.
• Preservation and clean up efforts for the Indian River Lagoon, St Lucie River Estuary and Lake Okeechobee.
• Alternative fuels and renewable energy to protect our environment and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
• Controlling growth to protect our quality of life

Defending our Second Amendment Rights

Debbie Mayfield believes that the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental, individual Constitutional right that we have a sacred duty to protect.

In the State House, she will work to ensure that all of our Constitutional rights are protected and maintain the responsibility of lawmakers to ensure that criminals who violate the law are prosecuted to the fullest, rather than restricting the rights of law abiding citizens.

Building a Stronger Economy and Lowering Taxes

Debbie Mayfield is staunchly opposed to new taxes, and is guided by the core principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility. As a businesswoman and homeowner, Debbie knows first hand that Floridians need opportunities and incentives for savings and investment.

As a State Representative, she will work tirelessly to cap government spending, cut wasteful programs, streamline government processes, and eliminate duplicate programs that continue to exist. Additionally, Debbie insists on having Florida government set aside money in a “rainy day” fund in preparation for future economic woes that might be near.

Debbie supports a Taxpayers Bill of Rights that requires voter approval before any tax increase can be implemented.
